About Emily A. Smith PhD
Emily holds a BS in Exercise Science and Wellness with a minor in Nutrition from Jacksonville State University. She has a Masters of Philosophy and a PhD specializing in Comparative Religion from the University of Sedona. She is a graduate of the Atlanta School of Massage in Clinical and Neuromuscular Massage Therapy as well as a Dr. Vodder Manual Lymph Drainage Therapist. She is a Universal Yoga Teacher in Sivananda Yoga, as well as a Usui and Karuna Ki Reiki Master. She is also a Seven Rays practitioner, working directly with the Ascended Masters.
With all of her studies in the health and healing field it was still not enough to prevent her from suffering for years with anxiety and panic. She tried for seven full years to heal from anxiety without the help of medication. Finally, after those years and life got more difficult, she caved and gave it a try. It turns out that a small dose of medication did change her life for the better. She does not promote medication, but does not in any way dismiss it either, anymore. She now understands that the brain is indeed an organ and sometimes it needs medical intervention to help it get balanced. She also understands that the mind is not the same thing as the brain and also requires a great deal of healing and coping skills to make the combination of intervention and authentic healing possible.
She is the author of:
Awaken: To Expanded Consciousness
Stretch Therapy: A Comprehensive Guide to Basic Stretching
Stretch Therapy II: A Comprehensive Guide to Basic Assisted Stretching
Come Into Being: Guided Meditation CD
Create Your Day/Celebrate Your Night Anxiety AM/PM Meditation CD
Emily's mission statement is: To help facilitate the healing and retraining of the body's ability to heal itself.

INATS in a Flash | By Melanie Marquis
At the end of June, I had the pleasure of attending INATS-West, the International New Age Trade Show held in Denver each year. The expo showcases the best of the best in New Age publishing and retailing, so I thought I’d take a look and share some of the highlights of what’s hot right now and what good things are yet to come. Although the show was much smaller than last year’s event, a by-product of the shaky economy no doubt, it was still very fun, with appearances by authors T. Thorn Coyle, Debra Lynn Katz, and many others. I wandered about for hours, scanning displays for the latest and greatest products that might be of interest to the tarot community. I found all kinds of good stuff. Here are the highlights:
